Those of you not following the manga (shame!) should know that upperclassman Imae has popped up a few more times in Tomoko's life, during her second year of high school, to make sure things are going well for her. Tomoko is still kind of a weirdo loner, but she actually has friends now. If you liked the anime, you'll love the manga, as now it's more like a serial novel about her progress, instead of just repeated failures, and the cast has expanded with a lot of pesonalities who are interesting in their own right.
